I designed and made a watch! Digitally and physically, Orbit is a familiar form with a clean and minimal approach. The natural mother-of-pearl dial reminds me of the Moon, which went on to inspire and inform the overall build. I imagine the dial as if it broke off from the Moon and fell to Earth.

Designing the watch in 3D before ordering parts turned out to be a really rewarding multimodal process. The digital and physical versions of the watch informed each other on which ideas were viable both functionally and visually, eventually landing on a harmonious balance of the two. Digitally I imagined a moon-phase complication - but physically this proved challenging - so I settled on a sterile dial, making for a cleaner overall façade. Inside is an automatic Seiko NH35 Japanese movement, paired with Oyster inspired hardware.
